Job summary

Chartwells Higher Education Dining Services is hiring for a Food Unit Lead at San Jose, CA. This part-time role coordinates activities of food-service staff and strives to create an enjoyable dining experience for customers, staff and visitors.

Qualifications

• Prior food-service experience preferred.
• Ability to supervise and train staff.
• Strong customer service orientation.

Responsibilities

• Oversees and participates in the preparation and service of food and beverage items.
• Trains employees; assigns and coordinates work to promote efficiency and excellence in food and service.
• Manages cash handling and daily reports such as inventory, payroll and time-keeping.
• Ensures sanitation and safety compliance with company standards and government regulations.
• Responds to customer complaints in person and via email.
