Chartwells Higher Education Dining Services at University of Houston is hiring immediately for full and part-time FOOD SERVICE WORKER/CASHIER positions. Responsibilities include cashiering, food service tasks, and maintaining sanitation standards in dining areas.

Open availability is required with nights and weekends; prior front-of-house experience preferred. We offer competitive wages ($13.00–$14.00 per hour), benefits, and perks like Instapay through One @Work to support our team.

Qualifications

• Prior front-of-house and food service experience preferred.
• Must be able to perform cashiering duties and handle sales transactions.
• Availability for nights and weekends to support dining services.

Responsibilities

• Performs prep work such as washing, peeling, cutting and seeding fruits and vegetables.
• Carries pans, kettles and trays of food to and from work stations, stove and refrigerator.
• Stores foods in designated areas with proper dating and rotation.
• Cleans work areas, equipment and utensils and maintains sanitation.
• Serves customers in a friendly, efficient manner and follows steps of service.
• Enters sales into the cash register and handles payments including change and receipts.
