Job summary

Chartwells Higher Education Dining Services in Abilene, TX is hiring for food service workers to prepare, present and serve food in our dining facilities.

Positions include both full-time and part-time schedules with evenings and weekends; prior food service experience is preferred and training is provided. Pay ranges from $13 to $15 per hour.

This role emphasizes teamwork, safety, and compliance with sanitation standards while delivering friendly service to students and staff.

Qualifications

• Prior food service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs prep work such as washing, peeling, cutting and seeding fruits and vegetables.
• Weighs and measures designated ingredients.
• Carries pans, kettles and trays of food to and from work stations, stove and refrigerator.
• Stores food with proper dating and rotation procedures.
• Cleans work areas, equipment and utensils.
• Distributes supplies, utensils and portable equipment.
• Follows approved recipes and production standards for quality and portion control.
• Serves customers in a friendly, efficient manner.
• Resolves customer concerns and relays relevant information to supervisor.
• Ensures compliance with sanitation and safety requirements.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
