Job summary

NC State University is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to join the Building Maintenance & Operations team in Raleigh, NC. This hands-on role supports preventive maintenance, repairs, and operations across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, steam, and other building systems.

You’ll work with seasoned mechanics, perform basic maintenance tasks, document readings and work performed, and ensure equipment reliability while adhering to safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated competency.
• Valid NC Driver's License required.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic maintenance, preventive maintenance, and repairs across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, steam, and other building systems.
• Assist higher-level mechanics with maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, installations, and other assigned work.
• Document work performed, readings, and identified issues accurately and on time.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and follow all safety practices.
