Job summary

Seattle Pacific University is seeking a Maintenance Technician II to support day‑to‑day campus facilities operations, including preventive maintenance, repairs, event support, and responsive customer service. This in‑person role is based on SPU’s Seattle campus and involves collaboration with Facilities staff to ensure safe and reliable operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of three years of experience in building maintenance, facilities operations, or related field.
• Demonstrated reliability, good judgment, and commitment to workplace safety.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• Ability to operate a university service vehicle.
• Ability to perform physical work including lifting, climbing, and working in varying weather.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs in academic, residential, and administrative buildings.
• Respond to work orders and service requests in a timely and customer-focused manner.
• Troubleshoot maintenance issues and assist in maintaining safe and functional facilities.
• Support campus events and special projects as needed.
• Collaborate with Facilities team to support efficient building operations.
• On-call rotation to respond to urgent maintenance outside normal hours.
