Job summary

ABM Industries is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to perform a range of building maintenance, repair, and preventive tasks across campus facilities. The role supports safe, efficient operation of university buildings and equipment.

Pay ranges from $23 to $26 per hour, with offers based on experience and market data. The position requires a high school diploma or GED and 3–5 years of maintenance experience, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry work.

Qualifications

• Three to five years of building maintenance, facilities, construction, or related experience.
• Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and general maintenance practices.
• Ability to lift up to 70 pounds and work in varying environmental conditions, including heights and confined spaces.
• Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions and complete work orders.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and emergency building repairs, including basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry work.
• Conduct inspections and preventive maintenance on buildings and equipment.
• Repair and maintain doors, locks, lighting, fixtures, mechanical equipment, and other facility systems.
• Assist skilled trades personnel with construction, renovation, and maintenance projects.
• Operate tools safely and maintain a clean work area.
• Respond to after-hours emergencies and participate in on-call rotation.
• Support continuous improvement and excellent customer service.
