Job summary

HES Facilities is seeking a General Maintenance Technician for Albany, GA. The role involves following work orders, recording time and actions via a cellphone, and performing plumbing, electrical, drywall, and carpentry tasks to keep facilities in top condition.

You will collaborate with vendors and internal teams, rotate across shifts, and contribute to safety and daily inspections. The position is full-time and based on-site, with comprehensive benefits available.

Qualifications

• Receives electronic (cell phone), verbal or written instructions to complete work orders (WO) on routine or emergency basis.
• Records start and finish time and comments in cell phone per department policy.
• Performs plumbing repairs/ installations of sinks, commodes, valves and water coolers; replaces damaged water lines and clears clogs.
• Measures, cuts, threads and prepares piping for replacement or new installations.
• Performs minor electrical repairs and minor carpentry repairs.
• Repairs or replaces electrical outlets, lighting fixtures, tubes/bulbs and switches.
• Performs drywall repairs and adjusts door hardware for proper operation.
• Maintains buildings in good operating condition; replaces stained ceiling tiles after leaks.
• Conducts Daily Routine Building (DRB) inspections and reports findings.

Responsibilities

• Oversee outside vendors when necessary.
• Obtain materials as needed to complete tasks.
• Notify appropriate personnel of additional supplies or equipment needs.
• Observe and report unusual or emergency situations to Facilities leadership.
• Recommend improvements to methods and procedures.
• Collaborate with other trades to complete repairs or projects.
• Shift rotation to cover various hours as required by Facilities operations.
