Job summary

St. Pius X High School is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to join our facilities team. The role focuses on ongoing maintenance and repairs across campus, reporting to the Director of Facilities.

It requires a flexible schedule to cover events and summer demands, with readiness to ensure safety and operational integrity of buildings. The ideal candidate has at least three years in facilities maintenance, a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and proficiency with Microsoft

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 3 years of facilities maintenance experience.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Ability to read and interpret safety documents and manuals.
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and basic mobile apps.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Open to flexible scheduling including evenings/weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary point of contact for facilities issues on campus.
• Work independently with minimal supervision.
• Perform daily grounds and maintenance inspections and address debris.
• Assist with minor plumbing, electrical and mechanical repairs and supervise contractors as needed.
• Assist with equipment and furniture moves and event setups.
• Support groundskeeping and gardening tasks on campus.
