Job summary

Katy ISD Maintenance and Operations seeks an Area Maintenance Supervisor to oversee district facilities across campuses. You will supervise staff, plan preventative maintenance, schedule work orders, and ensure safety regulations are followed.

Five years of maintenance leadership and solid knowledge of building systems are required. The role demands independent work, strong communication, and the ability to prioritize multiple projects in a dynamic school environment.

Qualifications

• Possess a valid Texas Operator’s License.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Five years of maintenance training experience; school/education facility preferred.
• Experience in personnel management, training and supervision.
• Strong knowledge of building systems (electrical, plumbing, carpentry).
• Ability to read plans and specifications; interpret shop drawings.
• Plan, prioritize and oversee multiple maintenance projects.
• Proficient with maintenance management software and MS Office.
• Knowledge of federal, state, local and ADA codes.
• Excellent leadership, communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently; lift 50 pounds; read/write/speak English.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and schedule assigned maintenance staff.
• Oversee repairs across district facilities and participate in hands-on work as needed.
• Plan and monitor routine and preventative maintenance tasks.
• Coordinate work orders to ensure timely resolution of requests.
• Provide training, mentorship and performance evaluations.
• Maintain records of repairs, safety programs and training.
• Ensure compliance with safety codes and district policies.
• Respond to emergencies and after-hours calls when required.
• Inspect campuses for proper function and safety compliance.
• Coordinate permits for minor construction and relocations.
