Job summary

The University of North Carolina Asheville is seeking a Building Environmental Services Technician to perform a variety of cleaning duties in academic buildings. Candidate should have knowledge of cleaning procedures and the ability to operate equipment necessary for maintaining a clean environment. Typical hours are Monday to Friday, 5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Occasional overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience with cleaning procedures for public buildings.
• Familiarity with automated cleaning equipment and commercial cleaning chemicals.
• Possession of necessary competencies to perform the work.

Responsibilities

• Perform sweeping, mopping, and general cleaning tasks across campus buildings.
• Clean chalkboards, restrooms, windows, doors, and other surfaces.
• Operate and maintain automated cleaning equipment and commercial cleaning chemicals.
• Maintain cleaning equipment and report problems daily.
• Plan work schedule to cover assigned area and attend to special tasks.
