Job summary

Rice University is seeking an Associate Director for Campus Engagement to catalyze high-quality programming related to belonging, leadership development, community building, and pluralism across campus. This role fosters conditions for students to develop interpersonal, intercultural, and civic competencies for flourishing at the university and beyond.

The Associate Director partners with residential colleges, student organizations, and community partners to create an inclusive campus

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 3+ years of experience in a college/university setting (student programming, activities, or support).
• Experience advising student leaders in one-on-one settings.
• Inclusion and belonging engagement experience and knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Develops and enforces operating policies and procedures for the area.
• Supervises area staff, sets goals, and provides performance feedback and professional development.
• Collaborates with student organizations and student leaders to develop and implement engaging programs promoting intercultural awareness and inclusivity.
• Advises and guides student organizations on event planning, organizational management, and leadership succession.
• Coordinates leadership development, financial responsibility, and risk management programming for student leaders.
• Conducts regular assessments to evaluate impact and effectiveness of programs.
• Oversees budgets for various accounts and programs within the area.
