Job summary

The Energy Manager at University of North Carolina Wilmington reports to the Director of Utilities & Engineering and works across Facilities units to advance campus energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives.

This role leads the development and execution of an energy management plan, supervises engineering staff and student workers, and collaborates with campus partners and state agencies to reduce energy use in existing and new facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical/electrical) or environmental science.
• 3–5 years of energy management or HVAC experience.
• Valid NC Driver's License or ability to obtain within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage a campus-wide energy management plan.
• Provide technical leadership to engineering staff.
• Collaborate with university departments and external agencies.
• Ensure energy savings are incorporated into capital projects.
