Job summary

Slippery Rock University on the main campus seeks a skilled Electrician to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical systems up to 480 volts in campus facilities. You will locate power issues, install and commission various electrical components, and perform preventative maintenance.

Required four years in the electrical trade or an approved apprenticeship (or equivalent), plus licensure as a journey or master electrician. A campus interview and background check are required.

Qualifications

• Four years experience in the electrical trade or completion of an approved apprenticeship; or any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the required knowledge, skills, and abilities; licensure as a journey electrician or master electrician.

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical systems up to 480 volts.
• Read blueprints, schematics, and manuals; test equipment and commission work.
• Supervise and guide other employees on electrical tasks during assignments.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and PPE requirements.
