Job summary

Northwest Florida State College seeks an Electrician to maintain and troubleshoot campus electrical systems across facilities. The role reports to the Assistant Facilities Director and requires a proactive approach to ensure life safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• Trade school or college training in electrical work; Florida state license preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a commercial setting.
• Certification or diploma may substitute for years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain all lighting and electrical circuitry campus-wide with emphasis on Life Safety regulations.
• Troubleshoot faulty circuits to their source and repair or replace materials as needed.
• Run new circuits and conduit, junctions, panels and switches as needed.
• Be available 24/7/365 for power failures due to weather, accidents, vandalism or tampering.
• Complete annual mandatory compliance training.
• Perform other duties as required.
