Job summary

Lone Star College-Kingwood EHLS Officer position seeks experienced candidate to inspect, evaluate, and monitor campus safety programs. You will work with faculty and staff to maintain a safe environment and support training initiatives across the EHLS department.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and at least 4 years of experience.
• Ability to work with limited supervision.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of environmental safety compliance.
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Conduct and document visual inspections for fire hazards.
• Inspect environmental health, fire and life safety systems.
• Coordinate fire safety inspections with contractors.
• Plan and conduct fire and tornado drills; document results.
• Maintain testing results and repair records for safety systems.
• Support emergency management and police in drills.
• Maintain signage and equipment; escort contractors and Fire Marshals.
• Ensure accurate records and timely communication of fire system matters.
• Assist EHLS Managers with safety training and awareness.
