Job summary

Genuine Foods is hiring a Food Service Worker to join our team at a higher education setting. You will prepare and serve meals according to menus, engage students and educators, and support a mission of wholesome food and strong service.

No prior dining hall experience necessary as training is provided. We offer competitive hourly pay, a supportive team, and opportunities to learn culinary skills while contributing to student wellbeing and education.

Qualifications

• Must be flexible and able to work well in a team.
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic and level headedness.
• Punctual and able to adhere to the time and attendance policy.
• Able to climb stairs and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Interest in and commitment to Genuine Foods’ mission to support students.
• Must be able to work in a school environment.

Responsibilities

• Make menu items pursuant to recipes.
• Prepare raw foodstuffs for final cooking.
• Follow the Culinary Lead at all times.
• Coordinate with the kitchen team at all times.
• Cook and assemble items per specifications.
• Stock and organize the kitchen area.
• Clean and maintain cooking utensils.
• Interact with scholars and teachers to provide excellent service.
• Maintain clean service areas.
• Any other duties assigned
• Alert Culinary Lead of workplace problems
