Job summary

Chartwells Higher Education is hiring a Sous Chef at Trinity University in San Antonio, TX. In this leadership role you will oversee culinary functions, assist in planning, ordering, inventory, and food preparation while ensuring adherence to client guidelines, health regulations, and company standards for quality and presentation.

The Sous Chef motivates, trains, and directs back-of-house staff to achieve operation goals and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• 5 years of culinary experience including 1 year in management.
• Experience in diverse dining environments (education, healthcare, corporate).
• Knowledge of food quality, production, sanitation, safety, and cost controls.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and cooking of food items.
• Assist with menu planning and roll out of culinary programs.
• Manage cost controls and monitor expenditures.
• Direct and train back-of-house staff to ensure quality and presentation.
