Job summary

Chartwells Higher Education is hiring a Sous Chef at Trinity University in San Antonio, TX. The role involves assisting in all phases of planning, ordering, inventory, and food preparation, while upholding client culture, health regulations, and company standards for quality, freshness and presentation.

The Sous Chef will motivate, train and direct back-of-house staff to meet operational goals and ensure customer satisfaction. The position requires leadership and culinary expertise.

Qualifications

• 5 years of related culinary experience including 1 year at the management level.
• Experience in restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, military, health care, or related food service operations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and participate in the preparation and cooking of various food items.
• Assist with planning and creating menus.
• Roll out new culinary programs with the marketing and culinary team.
• Assist with cost controls and expenditure management.
