Job summary

The University of Notre Dame is hiring temporary/on-call Servers in the campus Hospitality department. As a Server, you will be the heart of our dining experience, delivering prompt, courteous service and helping guests with menu descriptions and orders.

Key duties include greeting guests, relaying orders to kitchen and bar, presenting checks, processing payments, and maintaining high service standards while following food safety procedures. Pay rate is $3/hr plus tips.

Qualifications

• Capable of managing time effectively with minimal supervision.
• Positive, respectful, excellent communication and listening skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time (up to 6 hours).
• Follow food safety procedures for handling, storing, and serving food.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly and enthusiastically
• Clearly describe and explain our diverse food and beverage offerings
• Accurately create guest orders and communicate them precisely to the kitchen and bar
• Serve food and beverages according to our high standards, ensuring continuous service throughout the meal
• Present guest checks and secure payment efficiently
• Carry food and beverage items using trays between dining rooms, the kitchen, and the bar
• Perform necessary accounting processes to meet server banking standards
