Job summary

Cornell Dining, part of Cornell University, seeks a General Manager of Residential Operations to lead multi-location dining services, oversee personnel, facilities, menus, budgets and financial stewardship with a budget up to 15 million annually.

In collaboration with the Associate Director, Culinary Wellness Innovation team and senior dining management, the GM will drive operational excellence, food safety, cost controls, and inventory management while fostering a culture of belonging and staff

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and at least four years of relevant experience.
  • Proven ability to lead multi-layered teams, with supervisory experience.
  • Technical skills with MS Word and POS systems.
  • Expert knowledge of food and health codes.
  • Experience linking inclusion, belonging and wellbeing to business goals.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and support for multidimensional operations including personnel, facilities, budgets.
  • Collaborate with Cornell Dining leadership to promote customer experience and operational excellence.
  • Foster a culture aligned with Cornell Dining's mission and values and participate in hiring and staff development.
  • Ensure Operational Excellence standards including culinary standards, food safety, cost controls, and inventory management.
  • Be flexible with hours, including nights and weekends as required.
