Job summary

Tufts University in Somerville, MA, is seeking a General Assistant for an academic year, 25 hours/week. Shifts: Sundays and Mondays off; Tue-Sat 5:30 PM–10:30 PM.

The role supports Tufts Dining’s comprehensive dining program across campuses, delivering quality food service to students, staff, and visitors. Responsibilities include cleaning, ware washing, stocking, sanitation, and potential basic kitchen tasks.

Qualifications

• Must be able to speak and understand English.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
• Flexible and willing to learn and take on various jobs as needed.
• Enjoys customer contact with a friendly attitude.

Responsibilities

• Clean, wash pots and utensils, and maintain sanitation and housekeeping of the unit.
• Wash, stock, sweep, mop, and manage storage areas.
• Move equipment on and off dining vehicles and within the unit.
• Dispose of trash, recycling, compost, and manage storage containers.
• Assist with basic kitchen tasks as needed.
