Job summary

Rhode Island College is seeking a Part-Time Housekeeper in the Custodial Services department to maintain clean, safe, and orderly campus spaces. The role covers cleaning floors, restrooms, offices, classrooms, residence halls, and planning for events, with waste disposal and restocking duties.

The position requires physical stamina (carry 50 lbs, stand and move for long periods) and the ability to work weekends ( Saturdays and Sundays) 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

Qualifications

• Completion of eight school grades.
• Experience in basic cleaning and custodial tasks.
• Combination of education and experience considered.
• Knowledge of cleaning equipment and methods.

Responsibilities

• Clean floors, carpets, restrooms, offices, classrooms, residence halls, athletic facilities, kitchens and other spaces.
• Collect and dispose of trash and recyclables.
• Set up rooms and equipment for events.
• Report safety concerns or maintenance needs.
• Operate custodial equipment and assist with snow removal or grounds tasks as needed.
