Job summary

Los Alamitos Unified School District is seeking a Custodian Substitute to perform a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks across campus facilities. You will assist with custodial needs, maintain equipment, and support teachers and staff under the Site Administrator’s direction.

Responsibilities include preparing campuses for daily use, responding to custodial requests, cleaning floors and restrooms, and setting up spaces for events.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; one year custodial experience preferred.
• Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations (OSHA) and district protocols.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks.
• Ability to follow directions and work well with others.
• Maintain records and prepare basic reports.

Responsibilities

• Prepare campus for entry/exit, open/close facilities as directed.
• Maintain lockers and supervise custodial operations.
• Respond to office requests for custodial and light maintenance tasks.
• Clean and maintain floors, restrooms, sinks, and surfaces; replace supplies as needed.
• Set up rooms for events; deliver books, supplies, and equipment as required.
• Monitor for pests and coordinate safe disposal of pests when encountered.
• Prepare monthly preventive maintenance or safety reports.
