Job summary

Newport Mesa Unified School District is seeking substitute custodians to support daily operations across our schools on an as-needed basis. Substitutes may be assigned to day, evening or weekend shifts with varying hours to meet school needs.

Responsibilities include routine custodial tasks, building and grounds maintenance, and ensuring secure, clean facilities. A valid California driver's license is required, and operations may include deep cleaning responsibilities as part of a roving crew.

THE VACANCY:

This recruitment will be used to fill substitute (temporary/as-needed basis) positions only.

This recruitment is open and continuous, meaning that all are welcome to apply.

Substitute positions may have varying days and hours depending on the need. Shifts range from Day Shifts (6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.), Midday Shifts (10:30 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.), Evening Shifts (2:30 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.), and Part-Time Shifts (10:15 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.), and may include weekends.

Basic Function

Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, perform routine day or evening custodial activities at an assigned school site; maintain buildings and adjacent grounds areas in a clean, orderly and secure condition; perform deep cleaning of floors as part of an assigned roving work crew as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Education and experience: Any combination equivalent to: sufficient training and experience to demonstrate the knowledge and abilities listed above.
