Job summary

Gatesville ISD maintains an open pool of applications for campus custodians in Gatesville, TX. Duties include cleaning, maintenance, and safety procedures, with fingerprinting required by state law. This pool feeds future openings and reviews are conducted by the Maintenance Director and staff.

Opportunities will be in the GISD Maintenance Department; positions are full-time when filled. Excellent attendance and cooperative work are expected of applicants.

Qualifications

• Prior custodial experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
• Read and understand cleaning, maintenance, and safety procedures.
• Operate cleaning equipment and handle cleaning supplies safely.

Responsibilities

• Maintain thoroughness, reliability, and accuracy in tasks.
• Work cooperatively and maintain positive attitudes.
• Maintain good attendance and productive time use.
• Follow district policies, rules and regulations.
• Demonstrate courtesy to staff, students, parents, and visitors.
• Maintain cleaning schedules for floors, boards, trash, windows, furniture and restrooms.
• Keep building and grounds neat and clean (sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, play areas).
• Assist with opening and closing building each school day.
• Follow safety procedures for locking and safeguarding facilities.
