Job summary

USC Auxiliary Services, including USC Housing, is seeking a Custodian III Floater to join our custodial team on campus. You will perform standard custodial duties, assist with basic repairs, and support a safe, clean environment for students, faculty, staff, and guests.

The successful candidate will have at least 2 years of related experience, knowledge of cleaning standards, and be able to lift 30 lbs. A CA driver's license is required as part of the role.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: High School Diploma not required.
• Experience: 2 years. Combined education/experience as substitute for minimum experience.
• Thorough knowledge of custodial trade.
• Knowledge of all cleaning standards and methods, materials, and equipment.
• Knowledge of and compliance with the operation of all mechanical cleaning equipment.
• Proven customer service experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 30 lbs.
• Valid CA driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Perform standard custodial procedures. Ensure that custodial standards are met. Maintain cleanliness of assigned facilities.
• Provide customer service to faculty, staff, students, and guests. Meet customer needs, offer options, resolve problems, and follow up with customers.
• Perform basic plumbing, carpentry, electrical, and painting maintenance and repair procedures.
• Assist supervisor in prioritizing work orders.
• Assist in the training of new custodians and temporary staff in the proper use of cleaning equipment.
