Job summary

University of Southern California Auxiliary Services is seeking a Custodian III Floater to keep campus facilities clean and welcoming for students, faculty, staff and guests in Los Angeles. You will perform standard custodial tasks and assist with maintenance to uphold USC's high standards of service.

Requires at least 2 years in custodial work, ability to lift 30 lbs, and a valid California driver’s license.

Qualifications

Thorough knowledge of custodial trade.
Knowledge of cleaning standards and methods, materials, and equipment.
Knowledge of and compliance with the operation of all mechanical cleaning equipment.
Proven customer service experience.
Ability to communicate effectively in English.
Ability to lift a minimum of 30 lbs.
Valid CA driver's license required.
DMV Pull Notice System participation and DMV record required.

Responsibilities

Perform standard custodial procedures.
Ensure custodial standards are met.
Maintain cleanliness of assigned facilities.
Provide customer service to faculty, staff, students, and guests.
Meet customer needs, offer options, resolve problems, and follow up with customers.
Maintain friendly, helpful demeanor.
Perform basic plumbing, carpentry, electrical, and painting maintenance and repair procedures.
Assist supervisor in prioritizing work orders.
Assist in training new custodians and temporary staff in proper cleaning equipment use.
Maintain inventories of custodial and maintenance supplies as directed.
