Job summary

Everett Community College is seeking a Custodian 2 to maintain clean and sanitary facilities for students, staff, and campus visitors. The role involves cleaning offices, classrooms, restrooms, and common areas, plus basic maintenance and safety compliance.

Responsibilities include inventory management, event setup assistance, and participation in training. The position is full-time, at 40 hours per week, with non-exempt status and union representation by WFSE.

Qualifications

• One year of custodial or related work experience.
• Knowledge of standard custodial practices and safety procedures.
• Ability to use custodial tools and equipment safely and effectively.
• Ability to perform basic repairs and maintenance.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and interact professionally.

Responsibilities

• Clean offices, classrooms, restrooms, outdoor spaces, and other areas campus-wide.
• Sweep, mop, scrub, vacuum, polish, and clean floors and surfaces.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, showers, locker rooms, and related facilities.
• Restock soap, paper towels, toilet paper, and other supplies.
• Maintain inventory of custodial supplies, equipment, and materials.
• Make rounds to secure buildings, lock doors and windows, and switch lights and equipment.
• Document and report damage, disrepair, security concerns, and hazards observed.
• Assist with maintenance, repair, and upkeep of facilities and furnishings.
• Assist with furniture and equipment setup for meetings, events, and activities.
• Assist with seasonal tasks such as snow removal and debris removal.
• Participate in training to improve methods and ensure safe practices.
• Provide support for special projects, emergency response, and workload peaks.
