Job summary

Southern University at New Orleans is seeking a Custodian to keep campus facilities clean, safe, and orderly. Core tasks include sweeping, mopping, dusting, sanitizing, and basic upkeep of restrooms, offices, and common areas.

This Probational appointment offers a 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. workday with an annual compensation of $20,800. No prior experience is required, and the role supports state public service initiatives.

Qualifications

• No experience or training required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of designated areas, including restrooms, offices, and common spaces, through comprehensive sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and polishing procedures.
• Moves, rearranges and dusts furniture and fixtures.
• Reports needs for repairs to higher-level custodians.
• Washes blinds, windows, and walls.
• Picking up trash, watering plants, etc.
