Job summary

Cal Poly Humboldt is seeking a Custodian to join the Facilities Management team. The role involves daily cleaning, coordination with custodial staff, and providing support across campus buildings and facilities.

Under supervision, you will perform routine tasks, assist with events, and help maintain clean, safe spaces while adhering to safety and sustainability practices. This full-time position offers comprehensive benefits and a one-year probationary period.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and write at a level appropriate to the duties of the position.
• Ability to perform physical activity including moving up to 50 pounds.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide routine general cleaning services to campus indoor facilities (35%).
• Detail cleaning of floor, walls and ceilings; scrub, mop; sanitize restrooms, locker rooms, kitchens and laundry rooms; replenish supplies and manage waste.
• Provide team support and special assignment work; coordinate with lead custodian and supervisor; work as part of a custodial team.
• Perform semi-annual custodial work; deep cleaning during breaks; clean kitchens, bathrooms, common areas, and floors.
• Provide event support and assist in moving furniture for events.
• Engage in safety practices; monitor supplies and ensure safe work areas.
