Job summary

Volunteer State Community College seeks a Custodian to support daily cleaning and maintenance across facilities. Responsibilities include routine cleaning, waste disposal, window cleaning, and stocking supplies while ensuring safe handling of chemicals and adherence to safety guidelines.

The role requires teamwork and helps prepare spaces for events and meetings. Candidate should have a High School diploma or GED and at least one year of custodial experience.

Qualifications

• Ability to operate and maintain custodial equipment.
• Knowledge of safe handling and use of cleaning chemicals.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and disposal guidelines for hazardous materials.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning tasks: mop, vacuum, dust and arrange furniture.
• Clean interior/exterior windows and glass surfaces; empty waste; recycle per guidelines.
• Maintain supplies in classrooms, restrooms, offices, and public areas; restock as needed.
• Operate custodial equipment safely and perform basic maintenance checks.
• Support event setups and collaborate with team to complete group tasks.
