Job summary

Kentucky State University in Frankfort, KY is seeking a full-time Custodian/Housekeeper to maintain a clean, safe environment for students, staff and visitors. You will clean, sanitize and restock facilities across campus, operate cleaning equipment, and report hazards.

This non-exempt role requires ability to follow instructions, work independently or with a team, and communicate professionally. A High School diploma or GED is preferred; prior housekeeping experience is acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine maintenance to custodial equipment and supplies.
• Empties trash receptacles and bags trash for proper disposal.
• Cleans assigned areas by washing furnishings, windows, tiles, fixtures, equipment and floors.
• Vacuums, dusts, and polishes specified areas and/or furnishings; sanitizes and disinfects bathroom.
• Restocks paper and soap supplies.
• Gathers and transports refuse from assigned areas to appropriate disposal locations.
• Inspects physical condition and requests repairs or replacements as needed.
• Operates standard cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaners, buffers and mops.
• Reports safety hazards and replenishes supplies.
