Job summary

MSOE is seeking a Custodian I to maintain clean, safe, and welcoming spaces across campus. This full-time role runs on the 1st shift, 4:00am to 12:30pm, Monday through Friday, with 4 weeks of paid training and a strong benefits package.

Starting pay is $18.00 per hour. Responsibilities include cleaning classrooms, labs, offices, and common areas, operating cleaning equipment, and handling light lifting. Join a university built on excellence and community.

Responsibilities

• Clean public areas, including classrooms, labs, receiving areas, trash rooms, offices, restroom/shower areas, hallways, and lobbies.
• Wipe countertops and tables; clean windows; move furniture and cleaning decor items in common areas.
• Clean restrooms/showers and scrub toilets, sinks, and floors.
• Dispose of trash and recyclables.
• Vacuum carpets; sweep and mop tile floors; clean spills, including biohazards.
• Operate cleaning equipment including vacuums, brooms, mops, automatic scrubbers, carpet extractors and buffers.
• Lift, push, pull, and/or move up to 50 pounds, and up to 100 pounds with assistance.

MSOE is seeking to fill a full-time 1st shift Custodian I position on our Custodial Services team! This position will work 4:00am to 12:30pm Monday through Friday.

Training
4 weeks PAID training upon starting; training hours are 6am to 2:30pm.

Summary of duties for MSOE Custodians:

• Clean public areas, including classrooms, labs, receiving areas, trash rooms, offices, restroom/showers, hallways, and lobbies.
• Wipe countertops and tables; clean windows; move furniture; and clean furniture and decorative objects in common areas.
• Clean restrooms/showers and scrub toilets, sinks, and floors.
• Dispose of trash and recyclables.
• Vacuum carpets; sweep and mop tile floors; and clean any spills that occur, including biohazardous materials and substances.
• Operate cleaning equipment including but not limited to vacuums, brooms, mops and moping buckets, automatic scrubbers, carpet extractors and buffers.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds and up to one hundred (100) pounds with assistance.
