Job summary

Washington State University Tri-Cities in Richland, WA is seeking a Custodian 1 to maintain welcoming, clean facilities for students, employees, campus partners, and visitors. You will perform routine custodial duties and set up events.

The regular schedule is Monday through Friday, 1:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., with occasional earlier shifts and possible night/weekend work to support campus events. This is a full-time, on-site position with opportunities for salary progression.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18.
• Physical ability to perform duties with or without accommodation.
• Ability to work occasional night and weekend shifts to meet campus needs.
• Ability to obtain Department of Energy clearance for building access.
• One year of prior custodial experience (preferred).
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine custodial and housekeeping duties in assigned areas.
• Set up and take down furnishings and equipment for campus events.
• Respond to custodial requests and maintain tools and supply areas.
• Participate in campus emergency response activities as needed.
