Job summary

Deerfield Academy invites applications for a Custodian role reporting to the Custodial Supervisor. The successful candidate cleans and maintains campus buildings daily, ensuring all areas are clean, safe and aligned with the Academy’s standards of excellence.

Responsibilities include cleaning bathrooms, floors and surfaces, removing trash, assisting with events and campus moves, and reporting repairs. A high school diploma and custodial experience are preferred. A $1,000 sign-on bonus is offered.

Qualifications

• Completion of 12th grade or equivalent.
• 3–12 months of custodial experience or related field.
• Ability to read and write and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to pay close attention to detail.
• May work as part of a team or individually.
• Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion, and to serving the needs of a diverse community.

Responsibilities

• Clean bathroom toilets, sinks, showers, and locker rooms daily.
• Vacuum/sweep carpets and stairs, mop floors.
• Wash or dust surfaces to maintain cleanliness.
• Remove trash, recycling, and compost to designated area.
• Move snow or debris to ensure safe entryways.
• Request supplies to maintain inventory.
• Report repairs to supervisor or submit work orders.
• Maintain equipment.
• Assist with events and campus moves.
