Job summary

Deerfield Academy is seeking a Custodian to clean and maintain buildings daily under the supervision of the Custodial leadership. The role involves following safety protocols with required PPE and contributing to a clean, welcoming campus environment.

The successful candidate will participate in routine cleaning tasks, assist with event setups, and report repairs as needed. A 12th grade or equivalent is required, with 3–12 months of custodial experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Completion of 12th grade or equivalent.
• 3–12 months custodial experience, or a related field.
• Ability to read and write and take oral and written instructions.

Responsibilities

• Clean bathroom toilets, sinks, showers, and locker rooms daily using proper cleaning products.
• Vacuum/sweep carpets and stairs, mop floors to meet standards.
• Wash or dust surfaces to maintain cleanliness.
• Remove trash, recycling, and compost from offices, classrooms, dormitories, and around buildings.
