Responsibilities include cleaning and disinfecting restrooms and fixtures using approved methods, removing snow from nearby steps and sidewalks with tools such as brooms and shovels, and occasionally assisting with leaf raking. Custodians also supervise work-job students by assigning responsibilities, providing instruction, and ensuring students follow program expectations. The role includes monitoring cleaning supply inventory to support efficient use of materials and ensuring custodial equipment is properly maintained and used in accordance with safety standards. At times, Custodians may take on specialized projects such as floor stripping and waxing, as well as carpet and upholstery cleaning. Reliability, punctuality, and adherence to school safety policies are essential to maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students and employees.
