Job summary

Michigan State University College of Engineering is seeking a Custodial Supervisor for the 3rd shift (Sun–Thu, 9:30 PM–6:30 AM) to oversee custodial staff across campus buildings, including Engineering and Digital Innovation Center, plus Anthony Hall, BioMed Physical Sciences, Engineering and STEM.

The role emphasizes staff training, scheduling, and enforcing university policies, with occasional after-hours work; in-person presence is required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems in buildings.
• Experience with inventory controls and health care facility cleaning is a plus.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Direct the cleaning operations and custodial staff to foster a high performance culture.
• Train and evaluate front-line employees; plan staffing and scheduling.
• Enforce department and university policies and handle staff grievances.
• Inspect buildings to identify problems and ensure timely repairs and safety.
