Job summary

UCLA Police Department is seeking a Crime and Intelligence Analyst to turn complex law enforcement data into actionable insights. You will work with the Investigations Lieutenant and Detective Sergeant to analyze crime patterns, map activity, and build predictive models.

This role informs patrol deployment, supports investigations, and contributes to campus safety through data-driven analysis and collaboration with multiple divisions.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years experience in crime analysis or intelligence analysis within a law enforcement or college safety environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Criminology, Criminal Justice, Statistics, Data Analytics, GIS, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to provide crime analysis for a university law enforcement agency serving a diverse population.
• Knowledge of statistical methods and probability theory to predict crime patterns.
• Experience with relational databases for data storage and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Perform intelligence and statistical analysis to detect emerging crime patterns.
• Build predictive probability models and map criminal activity.
• Synthesize data from regional databases to support investigations.
• Inform patrol deployment strategies and assist active investigations.
• Communicate findings clearly to stakeholders and team members.
