Job summary

Marshall University is seeking an Outreach Coordinator within the Counseling Center to lead mental health outreach across the campus community. The role combines direct clinical services with campus education and collaborative outreach efforts.

You will develop programs, coordinate events, and strengthen partnerships to promote access to care while maintaining rigorous documentation and adherence to best practices in college mental health.

Qualifications

• Master’s in Counseling or Social Work required.
• If not licensed, must be license eligible with WV BEC or WVBSW.
• Minimum of 5 years clinical experience.
• Minimum 5 years campus counseling and outreach experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop, coordinate, and deliver outreach programming for students, faculty, staff, and community members.
• Psychoeducational workshops, awareness events, mental health promotion activities, training, presentations, and campus wellness initiatives.
• Promote visibility of Counseling Center services at recruitment events and build partnerships with campus and community stakeholders.
• Assist in writing, editing, and submitting grant proposals to secure funding for mental health initiatives.
• Conduct client intake interviews and administer screening and assessment tools.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and provide counseling services.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation within 48 hours of service.
• Participate in a 24-hour on-call rotation for crisis intervention.
• Facilitate referrals to higher levels of care and coordinate with partners.
• Attend supervision sessions and team meetings for professional growth.
• Stay informed on best practices in college mental health and outreach.
• Support diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility in all efforts.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• Gather and analyze data related to outreach activities and client outcomes.
• Prepare detailed reports and KPI recommendations for program improvement.
• Collaborate with Counseling Center leadership on needs assessments and goals.
• Ensure compliance with data collection, reporting, and accreditation standards.
