Job summary

The University of St. Thomas is hiring full-time, benefits-eligible Building Service Workers to maintain cleanliness and upkeep across the St. Paul and Minneapolis campuses.

This Facilities Management role includes early and evening shifts with a 5‑day workweek and weekend coverage as needed. Hourly rate starts at $22.10 with shift differentials for 2nd and 3rd shifts. Qualifications

• Experience and working knowledge of proper custodial/janitorial cleaning procedures.
• Ability to read and understand instructions plus communicate for purposes of supporting event set-ups and safety procedures with attention to detail.
• Successful completion of a criminal background check and pre-employment physical are conditions of employment for this position.

Responsibilities

• Routine cleaning of assigned buildings including offices, athletic facilities, food service areas, classrooms, and restrooms according to university standards.
• Vacuuming, dusting, washing and disinfecting surfaces, and trash/removal.
• Periodic duties such as carpet/hard floor care, bulb replacement, event area setup, and snow removal.
• Occasional room setup/teardown of tables and chairs for college events.
• Occasional heavy lifting of furniture and custodial equipment.
