Job summary

West Liberty University is seeking applications for two Trades Specialist - Carpenters. The Carpenter will assist with the execution and completion of construction and renovation projects on campus, supporting the Project Manager and Physical Plant to ensure timely and efficient delivery.

• Trade school or plumbing experience preferred.
• Clean driving record required.

Responsibilities

• Support the Project Manager & Physical Plant with daily operations, project scheduling, and resource allocation for construction projects.
• Performs a range of minor plumbing repairs and maintenance, including soldering, clearing drain blockages, repairing sewer lines, installing PVC pipes; schedule preventive maintenance.
• Review construction plans and blueprints with the Project Manager to ensure carpentry work meets design specifications.
• Assist in managing and tracking materials required for carpentry tasks, ensuring proper usage and minimizing waste.
• Follow all safety guidelines and regulations while on-site to ensure a safe work environment for staff and contractors.
• Maintain and store tools and equipment in good working condition.
• Collaborate with other tradespeople and contractors to ensure smooth project progression.
• Assist with preparation of progress reports and carpentry-related task updates.
• Inspect completed carpentry work for quality and code compliance.
