Job summary

Bennington College is seeking an experienced carpenter for a full-time, year-round role to perform skilled interior and exterior carpentry across campus facilities. The hourly rate of pay is $30.63.

This position may require overtime, weekend and holiday coverage, and offers a comprehensive benefits program including health insurance, retirement with employer match, and educational benefits for employee and family.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; carpentry apprenticeship or technical schooling preferred.
• 5+ years in carpentry or building trades; 7+ years preferred; cabinetmaking a plus.
• Valid driver's license and ability to follow blueprints and schematics.
• Proficient with measuring and math for layout and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Manage carpentry on new/existing structures, follow blueprints or schematics.
• Build/repair wooden fixtures and maintain furniture, doors, windows, floors.
• Install drywall, wood paneling, siding and finish carpentry work as required.
• Study plans to prepare layouts, select/order lumber and materials.
• Ensure safety, attend training, and respond to emergencies as needed.
