Job summary

The Regents of the University of California on behalf of their Los Angeles Campus seeks a skilled Carpenter to perform and supervise a variety of carpentry tasks. Build, repair, install cabinets, partitions, doors, frames, drywall, and related woodwork; read blueprints and work independently with minimal direction.

This full-time on-site position requires knowledge of safety standards (OSHA, ADA), ability to lift up to 80 lbs, and valid CA driver's license. Work schedule 6:30 a.m.

Qualifications

• Experience with reading blueprints and converting them into precise on-site work.
• Ability to interpret plan specifications and calculate layouts and offsets.
• Knowledge of safety practices and OSHA requirements in a carpentry environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled carpentry duties including cabinet build, wall partitions, doors, and drywall installation.
• Read blueprints and work independently with minimal supervision to complete assignments.
• Operate and maintain carpentry tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
• Maintain safe working practices and coordinate with campus staff as needed.
