Job summary

Oberlin College Development is seeking a Peer Career Advisor to support Career Exploration & Development (CED). You will work closely with Career Advisors to help students access resources, prepare for internships, and raise awareness of CED services across campus.

You will also assist with alumni outcomes data, project work, and professional development activities while promoting equity and inclusive career access for all students.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
• Commitment to inclusive, student-centered support.
• Experience with Handshake, OberLink, or similar career platforms.

Responsibilities

• Resume and cover letter reviews.
• Navigation of Career Exploration & Development resources.
• Handshake assistance and general career questions.
• Referrals to Career Advisors for complex advising needs.
• Assist with the Resume Resource Lab and connect students to resources.
• Establish a weekly work schedule with the supervisor.
• Promote CED programs and services across campus.
• Table at campus locations to raise awareness of resources.
• Assist with Winter Term Career Treks and events.
• Support workshops, fairs, and networking programs.
• Engage in outreach campaigns to boost student participation.
• Assist Career Advisors with projects (planning, communications, marketing, events).
• Assist with special projects advancing career exploration initiatives.
