Job summary

Barnes & Noble College Campus stores seeks a Campus Retail Associate to provide exceptional customer service and support store leaders in all facets of retail operations.

You will assist with sales transactions, greet customers, help with store operations, and keep displays inviting while maintaining cleanliness and safety. Flexible scheduling and development program opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• Candidates must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
• Previous food handling experience preferred.
• Confident and comfortable engaging customers to deliver an elevated experience.
• An outstanding attitude with the willingness to learn and the capability to excel in a fast-paced, team environment.
• Basic math, keyboarding, and data entry skills.
• Flexible availability throughout the academic year including peak periods.

Responsibilities

• Assist with processing sales transactions involving cash, credit, or financial aid payments.
• Provide a friendly atmosphere by greeting customers and focusing on their positive experience throughout their visit.
• Take initiative to support store operations including operating equipment and cash register while ensuring speed of service and accurate transactions.
• Keep the store looking fresh by shelving, arranging, cleaning, and organizing products or space within the store.
• Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold food and drinks following prescribed recipes and techniques.
• Set up or restock displays, wrap, label, date, and rotate food items for sale.
• Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following cleaning, sanitation, and operational standards.
• Seasonal positions require availability to work on an as needed basis during peak periods(i.e. semester starts and ends), occasional weekends, and flexibility in scheduling to work periodically during the school year.
• Routine housekeeping including, for example, dusting, mopping, window cleaning, vacuuming, trash removal.
