Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally and courteously with students, faculty, staff, patients, visitors, and the general public.

  • Ability to follow established policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn parking management software, handheld devices, and payment systems.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and resolve routine customer concerns in a professional manner.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to identify, document, and report parking violations, safety hazards, maintenance issues, and security concerns.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.
  • Successful completion of required background checks.

Responsibilities

  • Provides exceptional customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, parents, university officials, and community members. Serves as a first point of contact for individuals entering or visiting the UNT campus and represents the university in a professional, welcoming, and knowledgeable manner.
  • Interacts with distinguished guests, including university leadership, CEOs, presidents, chancellors, city officials, donors, and other high-profile visitors. Provides professional assistance and guidance regarding parking, directions, campus locations, and access to scheduled events.
  • Maintains visitor parking reservations and assists with coordinating parking for scheduled and last-minute visitors. Notifies departments when their visitors arrive and assists in identifying appropriate parking solutions when assigned spaces are unavailable or displaced.
  • Maintains current knowledge of campus geography, parking rules and regulations, special events, road closures, construction impacts, parking lot closures, and other changes affecting parking and transportation. Assists motorists and pedestrians with wayfinding and general campus information.
  • Monitors the booth and surrounding area to ensure they remain clean, organized, professional, and welcoming. Helps maintain a positive first impression for visitors, students, parents, faculty, staff, and guests.
  • Assists with training and mentoring student employees by providing guidance on parking policies, procedures, customer service expectations, and appropriate interactions with the campus community.
  • Ensures daily activities are conducted in accordance with UNT policies, applicable regulations, safety guidelines, parking procedures, and established departmental expectations.
  • Uses appropriate judgment and discretion when responding to customer concerns, complaints, unusual situations, and operational issues. Escalate matters to a supervisor or appropriate department when necessary.
  • Maintains awareness of the surrounding environment and promptly reports unusual, suspicious, or potentially unsafe activity to a supervisor, UNT Police, or other appropriate personnel.
