Job summary

Waco ISD is seeking an Aide - Campus Support to assist with behavioral support and MTSS implementation at an assigned campus in Waco, TX. The role involves direct supervision, de-escalation, and collaboration with classroom staff to maintain a positive learning environment.

The ideal candidate will hold an associate degree or 60 college hours, a Para Professional Institute Certificate, and a valid Texas educational aide certificate, with prior school experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or 60 college hours from an institute of higher learning.
• Para Professional Institute Certificate.
• Valid Texas educational aide certificate.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the instruction of social-emotional and/or behavioral skills contributing to a safe learning environment under direct supervision of campus administrator or designee.
• Assist in the de-escalation of unsafe or disruptive student behaviors under direct supervision of campus administrator or designee. Facilitate student refocus on classroom activities.
• Assist with the preparation or maintenance of student records and behavior related reports in accordance with board policies, administrative regulations, individual education plans and/or behavior intervention plans.
• As directed by principal or designee, keep instructional staff informed of special needs or intervention strategies for students receiving targeted or individualized support.
• Participate in staff development training programs, faculty meetings and special events as assigned.
• As directed by principal or designee, supervise students assigned to in-school suspension (ISS) for disciplinary reasons. Work with individual students to complete assignments given by classroom teacher to facilitate return to regular classroom.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the principal in alignment with MTSS guidelines and contributing to overall campus safety.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education

Associate’s degree or two years of study (60 college hours)
