Job summary

The University of Notre Dame Operations, Events, and Safety (UOES) division is hiring a full-time Barista for Cafe J, Ivan's Cafe, and Cafe on the Ave on campus. You will greet guests, craft beverages, and maintain a clean, organized workspace in a fast-paced dining environment.

Required are 1–2 years of barista experience and strong communication. You must stand for extended periods; pay is $17.50/hour plus tips at North Dining Hall under VP-UOES-Hospitality & Dining.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of Barista experience.
• Capable of managing time effectively with minimal supervision.
• Positive and respectful attitude.
• Excellent communication and listening skills.
• Ability to maintain a standing position for extended periods (up to 6 hours).
• Follow food safety procedures for handling, storing, and serving food products.

Responsibilities

• Greet and anticipate the needs of guests, providing excellent service
• Prepare and serve coffee, tea, and other beverages according to brand standards
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized work area, including dining and prep spaces
• Stock and replenish supplies in service and prep areas
• Assist with cleaning, table arrangement, and trash removal
• Support coworkers to ensure a seamless operation
