Job summary

University of Florida invites applications for the Arts and Crafts Center Student Assistant on the UF campus in Gainesville. The role supports pottery, customer service, and studio operations with shifts that accommodate student schedules, up to 20 hours per week.

Selected students must be enrolled in at least 6 credits, maintain a 2.0 GPA, and be capable of lifting 25 pounds. Training is provided, and positions are filled through OPS or FWS with weekend and evening availability preferred.

Qualifications

• Current UF degree-seeking student registered at a minimum of 6 credit hours per semester
• Maintain a 2.0 GPA while employed
• Registered students work part-time up to 20 hours per week
• Must be able to lift 25 pounds
• Willingness to learn in a fast-paced, team environment

Responsibilities

• Maintain, organize, and inventory ACC equipment and spaces
• Assist with pottery processing: kiln loading/unloading, glaze dipping, finishing work
• Oversee the paint-a-pot area and guide patrons
• Handle customer transactions and reconcile daily reports
• Perform daily cleaning and studio maintenance
• Process pottery orders and restock supplies as needed
• Use Microsoft Teams and Excel for communications
• Respond to emergencies and assist with evacuations as needed
• Complete all training requirements after hire
